Shawn Storms, assistant director
Shawn Storms (assistant director) i s very excited to be working with this amazing cast! Shawn has been in and involved with numerous productions in and around the Dayton area. While most of them have been on the stage, she is now starting to shift her focus to behind the table. Shawn was last seen as Joanne Johnson in ETC’s production of Rent. Other favorite Roles include Signora Naccarelli in The Light in the Piazza, Ruth in A Raisin in the Sun, Antonio in Twelfth Night, and Mrs. Nordstrom in A Little Night Music. She will next been seen as Asaka in Sinclair’s upcoming production of Once On This Island. Thanks again to the AMAZING cast. It has been a pleasure getting to work with you, some for the first time (Matt/Beth ann) and some of you again (Amy/ JJ). Have a fantastic run. Merde!
Mark Barnhill, keyboard
Mark Barnhill (Keyboard) is making his second appearance with the Encore Theatre Company, having played Larry in their recent production of [title of show]. He has been Choir Director/Music Director at Northmont High School for the past 28 years and was instrumental in their state conference main stage productions of Les Miserables and Ragtime. Mark has also served as Music Director/Conductor for several All-Ohio productions including last year’s production of All Shook Up which was featured main stage at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mark also serves as Music Director at Shiloh Church, UCC.
Ally Wetz, stage manager
Ally Wetz (Stage Manager) is an alumna of Sinclair having graduated spring of ’09 with an AA in both theatre performance and technical. While at Sinclair she played the roles of Maria in An Experiment with an Air Pump and the indecisive dancer Elizabeth in Taking Steps. Out of the spotlight, she stage managed the” Scottish Play” and was also asked back to stage manage last winter’s production of Antigone. Recently Ally was a puppeteer for Zoot Theatre Company’s Moby Dick and is excited to have been asked to play the role of Stage Manager for ETC’s recent [title of show]. She will heading to Columbia College Chicago in the fall to further her studies in theatre performance. Ally also enjoys long walks on the beach, caramel frappuchinos and dancing in gay clubs under the alias Princess Consuela Bananahammock.
Jackson Gallagher, lighting designer
Jackson Gallagher (Lighting Design) is a recent graduate of Centerville High School and will be attending Carnegie Mellon this fall for a BFA in theatrical design. He recently won first place in lighting design at the International Thespian Festival. He also achieved the critic’s choice award in lighting design for the past two years at the State Thespian Conference. Over the past two years he has won four DayTony awards for his work at Centerville High School. Jackson is on an eternal conquest to embrace his inner child and loves firecracker popsicles.
Nathan D. Dean, sound designer
Nathan D. Dean (Sound Design) is tickled to be returning to Blair Hall this summer with Encore Theater Co. His last sound design in this space (before ETC’s [title of show]) was several years ago for Footfalls, A Series of Beckett Plays for which he received a Daytony as well as commendation from the Kennedy Center. Newer design credits include (but are not limited to) Lend Me A Tenor, Man of La Mancha, Vertical Hour, Rounding Third, and Ordinary Days (as well as a co-design for Moonlight and Magnolias) for the Human Race Theatre Company where he has served as the House Sound Engineer for the last couple of seasons. He has also been a sound engineer for La Comedia Dinner Theatre as well as the Indiana Repertory Theatre.
Patti Celek, marketing/box office manager
Patti Celek (Marketing/Box Office Manager) holds a degree in journalism from Ohio University with minors in vocal music and theatre. She has done marketing for a hospital, library, restaurant chain and electric utility but is thrilled with the chance to promote what she loves best – the theatre! Patti has also been a successful teacher, director and Destination Imagination coach but especially enjoys the opportunity Sinclair offers her to work with students of all ages.
Ben Morrison, photographer
Ben Morrison (Photographer) is currently studying photography at Sinclair Community College, and will be transferring to Ringling College of Art & Design in 2011. In addition to his passion for photography, Ben is no stranger to the stage. He has performed with several community theater companies including Muse Machine, Theater Under the Stars and Play House South, where he was cast in the role of Will Parker in the 2008 production of Oklahoma. He has served as co-choreographer and student director on a number of productions with friend and mentor, Joan Reynolds, at Kettering Middle School. Ben wants to send a shout out to “3 queers, 2 queens and Corrine” and a big thanks to all his loved ones!
